Training
Fall Protection Competent Person
Focusing on current OSHA standards and ANSI guidelines, this course will provide the knowledge and skills improving a worksite’s comprehensive fall protection program. Participants will receive practical experience in recognizing fall hazards and developing appropriate measures for eliminating or mitigating these hazards. This will include practical application of Roco’s “Fall Hazard Survey,” which identifies fall hazards and uses the “hierarchy of fall protection” to provide the most protective and feasible solutions. Roco’s “Rescue from Fall Protection” preplan will be covered in a live field exercise as well as demonstrations and practice rescues utilizing pre-engineered rescue systems. Participants will be exposed to a variety of modern fall protection equipment and receive guidance in selecting the proper equipment for greatest safety and efficiency. Depending on site specifics, engaging hands-on demonstration of simple rescue techniques, equipment inspection, setup and use of horizontal lifelines, and 100% tie-off while working at height will be presented.
