Dreagen Bethel

Instructor / Rescue Crew Chief

Dreagen Bethel’s rescue background is rooted in public service. A longtime member of the Baton Rouge Fire Department, Dreagen joined Roco in June of 2021 as a CSRT Crew Member. He now serves as a Crew Chief and Instructor, contributing both on standby jobs and in the training division, where he regularly teaches rescue and safety courses. He also serves on Roco’s VPP Safety Team, helping to uphold and strengthen the company’s commitment to safety excellence.

As a member of the Baton Rouge Fire Department, he currently serves as a career fireman and Lead Instructor for their Special Operations Group.

He holds a long list of technical certifications, including:

• High Angle & Confined Space Rescue Technician

• Tower Rescue Technician

• Trench Rescue Technician

• Structural Collapse Technician

• Swiftwater Rescue Technician

• Technical Search Specialist

Since joining Roco, Dreagen has continued to grow both as an instructor and as a safety professional. For him, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is watching Roco students transform over the duration of a training program—from overwhelmed to confident, from hesitant to capable.

He describes Roco’s mission as “setting the gold standard in rescue training, standby, and safety culture—never settling for ‘good enough.’”

Dreagen currently lives in Prairieville, Louisiana with his fiancée Bailey and their two dogs, Ellie and Hudson. In their downtime, you can find them hiking in the mountains or relaxing by the beach. One of their favorite getaways is Twin Lakes, Colorado—close enough to Aspen for a scenic view, but remote enough to disconnect and recharge.

We are very proud to have Dreagen as part of the Rescue Team. He has proven to be a valuable asset to our company.
