Roco Rescue is extremely proud to be a VPP Star Worksite, a designation we have held since 2013. The Star Award is the highest level within OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program, and it is considered one of the nation’s top workplace safety awards.
In order to earn this distinction, we implemented a comprehensive safety program and underwent a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts. The “Star” designation is reserved for companies that “demonstrate exemplary achievement in the prevention and control of occupational safety and health hazards, as well as the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety and health management systems.”
We have maintained our status as a VPP Star Worksite by passing periodic onsite audits conducted by a team of OSHA inspectors, once again validating that we are living up to the highest standards of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program.
Safety is deeply ingrained in our culture, and it is important to us that we practice what we preach. Roco Rescue is, after all, a safety and rescue services company, and our motto is, “There’s a safe a way, and a safer way.” The process of earning and renewing our VPP Star is an important way for us to get external feedback and confirm that we are “walking the walk” as an organization. We were the first rescue training, services and equipment company to earn a VPP Star.
The program encourages a cooperative relationship between management, labor and government. VPP promotes worker protection, which requires active employee involvement and management commitment, while emphasizing the continual identification and elimination of hazards above and beyond OSHA standards.
